This photo edition was done for a Russian magazine “Messenger” that I design. Evangelizing in Ethiopia was the main theme of the magazine and I wanted to have a big photo to use across the two middle pages of the magazine. I already had that in mind when I was in Ethiopia back in October 2008. I did a very easy process in getting my wide picture.
First of all, I aligned the three photos as close as I could to have the rough wide image layed out. Then I simply masked-erased the rough corners of the picture so the transition between images wouldn’t be seen.
The biggest problem, though, was in reaching one color throughout. As you can see, because the sun shined on the left the photo turned out much brighter then the first two. But using Photoshop’s effects like Levels and Selective Colors I was able to pull out the right colors so the same color stays throughout.
