Let me introduce you my sister. Her name is Anastasia, she is my best sister, just as my other four beloved sisters. She is getting married this June and I was making an invitation flyer for her. The photo was taking on a pretty cheap camera, I bet on “easy mode” too. So a lot of important details weren’t present.

This is the photo after some color retouching and after making the eyes “pop out” using only dodge tool in Photoshop.

Using the dodge tool for this purpose makes a photo look more professional as if great lighting was used. It also makes photo more dynamic and attractive. In another example you can see the big difference in the eyes after retouching the photo. By setting dodge tool’s exposure to 10% I drew around the center of my eyes (picture below) once and that’s all it took for me to get the result I wanted. Try it yourself sometime, and you will be surprised, just as I was, when was playing around in Photoshop.
